About Me

I was born in Costa Rica, when i was a young child I started singing with my Dad, my first introduction to the magical adventure of music. I remember I told my Dad once when I was little that I want it to study Chemistry, that same year as a Christmas present he bought me that chemistry set, but when he handed it to me he said: "Karol, You are an Artist not a Scientist".Great words that made a huge influence in my life, this was the turning point for me.

I studied at the Conservatory Castella in Costa Rica where I left before graduating. I finished my education in the Public school but I never stop singing or playing.I am also currently affiliated with Masters Musicians Incorporated (MMI).

I was introduce to the harp in the year 1999, I felt in love with it as soon as I saw Karin( my former tutor) playing it. I was lucky enough to be able to study with her.

I have a great love for all Music, especially Celtic, Trova, Spanish and Classical music. I know Celtic is not my background but i think there is a mystery in this music that intrigues me and makes me love it even more. Trova is what you probably know as new song music, si poetry in music, description of feelings and opinions in words, it makes this type of music unique some great trovadoures are Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes, Mercedes Sossa, Facundo Cabral, Joaquin Sabina, Pedro Guerra, Alejandro Fioli.If you have never heard trova give it a try you might end up falling in love with it like I did.

Spanish music has its own world, its own beauty and flavor, it is not only how you play it but how you can get listeners to also enjoy it. Spanish is a very romantic language, there are so many ways to say many things in Spanish but when you combine that with some music everything changes to ways that are not explicable.

Classical to me is not the pioneer of music but there is so much Classical music can say, it has a history that is hidding between the lines, the notes, the accidentals, the keys, so much to discover.

I resided in North Carolina where I performed for several public and private organizations including churches and private parties, and I have many hours of volunteer work for non profit organizations.I also tutored foster children in the harp and guitar.

I currently reside in South Florida where I Tutor, Perform at weddings, Private parties and Public events.
